Dr Makhulu Makumane

is the Head of Department, a Senior Lecturer and a Researcher in the Department of Language and Social Education at National University of Lesotho (NUL). She holds a PhD in Education (Curriculum Studies) from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, an MA and a BA Honours (Teaching French as a Foreign language) from the University of Cape Town (UCT) and a BA in Humanities from the NUL. She also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Labour Law (Conciliation and Arbitration) from the NUL.

She is the Coordinator in Lesotho for the African Interaction project, a collaboration between four African universities (UKZN, NUL, University of Eswatini and Kenyatta University). She has published in local and international accredited journals. She is also a guest co-editor for a special issue in the Education Sciences Journal, a co-editor of a book, a peer reviewer for several accredited international journals, an editorial board member for Discourse and Communication for Sustainable Education Journal, and an external examiner for several universities.
